William Charles Underhill

          Mr. William Charles Underhill, age 92, of Murray, Kentucky passed away, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at his home. 

          Mr. Underhill was born in Trigg County, Kentucky on September 14, 1931, to the late Rev. Loyd Underhill and Myrtle (Irvan) Underhill. Mr. Underhill retired from the Simmons Company in Munster, Indiana. He was a United States Army veteran who served in the Korean War and was known for his marksmanship. He was a member of the Dexter Pentecostal Church. 

          In addition to his parents, Mr. Underhill was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta (Miller) Underhill, who passed away on October 13, 2015; one sister, Christine Woods; and by three brothers, Earl Underhill, Tommy Underhill, and Shirley Wilber Underhill. 

          Mr. Underhill is survived by one son, Charles Loyd Underhill of Murray, Kentucky; one stepdaughter, Grace Anderson - Harvey and husband Joe of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Rev. Shelby Underhill and wife Penny of Murray, Kentucky; as well as four grandchildren, Austin Anderson, Kalea Anderson, Lex Nelson Doom, and Kinsley Brooke Underhill. 

          A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Rev. Kerry Lambert and Rev. Shelby Underhill will officiate. Burial will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
