Willie Owen Vinson

Mr. Willie Owen Vinson, age 89, of Puryear, Tennessee died Monday, December 01, 2014 at Paris Health Care in Paris, Tennessee.

Mr. Vinson was born in Model, Tennessee to the late Oscar and Orlena Cable Vinson. Mr. Vinson retired from West Kentucky Rural Telephone and was a retired farmer. Mr. Vinson was a member of the Hazel Baptist Church. There he served as a deacon and treasurer for 30 years and was a member of the Go Get Em Sunday School Class.

In addition to his parents Mr. Vinson was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Sue Vinson; and one sister, Ida Lorene Vinson.


Mr. Vinson is survived by one daughter, Beth Mangrum and husband Keith of Puryear, Tennessee; one grandson, Jason Mangrum and wife Jenny of Puryear, Tennessee; as well as one great grandchild, Erin Mangrum.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Hazel Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Jerry Lee, Bro. Time Cole and Bro. Brent Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazel City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held from 12:00 p.m. until funeral hour (1:00 p.m.) at the church on Thursday.
