Jane Hopkins McDaniel, 86, of Murray, Ky., died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Spring Creek Health Care.
Mrs. McDaniel was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Calloway County, Ky., to the late Linnie Opal Barnett Hopkins and William Henry Hopkins. She was a retired secretary and bookkeeper with the University Bookstore. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church and the Phoebian Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas McDaniel, to whom she was married Aug. 3, 1946.
Mrs. McDaniel is survived by two daughters, Cindy McDaniel and Lisa Yates, both of Murray; one son, Michael McDaniel of Smyrna, Ga.; a brother, Ben Hopkins of Murray; three grandchildren, Matt Harris of Atlanta, and Raegan Moore and Erin McClure of Murray; and four great-grandchildren, Lexi Blankenship, Elly McClure, Jackson McClure, and Emma Moore, all of Murray.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Inman officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at the funeral home.
